Who is Doom? Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU as Victor Von Doom, ruler of Latveria. We don't know much about him yet, but we know he has a tragic backstory, thinks the heroes of our universe, Earth-616, have all lived "stolen lives," and he wants to right what he thinks went wrong in his own universe — which the clues point to being the Fantastic Four's, though Marvel hasn't confirmed that outright.

Why is he coming? We can't be 100% sure, but we know that the multiverse has too many universes touching each other at once, which the comics call an incursion, and an incursion always ends with one universe wiped out. Doom may try to harness the power of an incursion to get what he wants.

What happened to Kang? The show Loki and the movie Quantumania set up Kang the Conqueror as the Multiverse Saga's endgame. Jonathan Majors was convicted of assault in December 2023 and Marvel dropped him that same day. Marvel needed to pivot, and Doctor Doom got the job instead.
