Watch progress stays on your device

Which titles you've marked watched, and your spoiler preference, are stored in your browser's localStorage — not in a cookie, and not on a server. That data never reaches The Road to Doom. It never leaves your browser unless you choose to share it yourself, either by generating a wall link at /wall, which packs your progress into the link itself, or, once accounts are available, by signing in.

Reader-reported corrections

The "something wrong on this page?" box that appears on every page sends us the page you were on, what kind of issue it is, and the message you typed. It does not send your IP address, your browser's user agent, or any other identifier — deliberately. We keep these reports to fix mistakes in the catalogue, and nothing else.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are popular. It is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites — it counts page views, not people.

Advertising

This site may run Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or similar technology to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Affiliate links

Some character pages carry Shop links to Amazon. These are affiliate links — The Road to Doom earns a small commission on qualifying purchases made after clicking one, at no extra cost to you. Amazon's own privacy policy governs what happens once you leave this site.

Accounts

Accounts are optional, paid, and restricted to readers 18 or older — they exist only to sync your watch progress across devices. Nothing on the site is gated behind one; every summary, badge, and page works exactly the same, forever, without signing in.

Signing in uses a one-time code: you give us an email address, and Supabase Auth (our authentication provider) sends a code to it that you enter on the site. We never see or store a password, because there isn't one.

Billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe collects it directly and tells us only whether the subscription is active. We store your email address and Stripe's identifiers for your customer and subscription, so we can recognize you on your next visit and manage billing.

Signing in also stores the same watch-progress data described above — content IDs and the date you marked each one watched — against your account, so it can sync between your devices instead of staying on just one.

Canceling keeps your account and progress in place — you can resubscribe later and pick up exactly where you left off. If a canceled account stays inactive for 6 months, we delete it — your email address, watch progress, and Stripe customer record — permanently and without a further notice. You can also delete your account yourself at any time from /account, which is immediate and cannot be undone.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them beyond what any anonymous visitor generates (see above). Accounts, which collect an email address and billing information, are restricted to readers 18 or older — see the Accounts section below.

Changes to this policy

This site reserves the right to update this policy at will. Any changes will be added to this page.
