The full story

Michael Morbius has suffered a rare blood disease since childhood, alongside his adoptive brother Milo at the same clinic. Grown into a Nobel-recognized biochemist working on synthetic blood alongside his colleague and partner Martine Bancroft, Michael illegally tests an experimental serum splicing his own DNA with vampire bat DNA, aboard a ship in international waters to stay outside regulatory reach. It works: his disease is cured and he gains superhuman strength, speed, echolocation, and heightened senses โ€” but he now needs human blood to sustain the change, and going too long without it pushes him toward a fully monstrous, uncontrolled state.

Milo, desperate for the same cure, steals Michael's research and takes the serum himself. Unlike Michael, Milo embraces the transformation without restraint, killing for blood without remorse โ€” including Dr. Emil Nicholas, the mentor who raised them both. FBI agents Simon Stroud and Al Rodriguez investigate the killings and begin closing in on Michael, who is framed for Milo's crimes, with only Martine still willing to believe him.

Michael develops a cure that would strip the vampiric power from both of them, but Milo refuses it, wanting to stay what he's become. Their confrontation ends with Michael killing Milo to stop him. Michael survives as a fugitive, still transforming, still needing blood to hold himself together.

In the mid-credits scene, Adrian Toomes โ€” the Vulture, and Peter Parker's old enemy โ€” arrives in this world, pulled out of the MCU by the same spell that unraveled the multiverse at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. He tracks down Michael and proposes they team up.
