Marc Spector is a former U.S. Marine and mercenary who, left for dead in the Egyptian desert, was resurrected by the moon god Khonshu and bound to serve as his avatar on Earth, gaining enhanced strength and durability through Khonshu's power. He shares his body and life with at least two other distinct identities, Steven Grant and Jake Lockley, the result of dissociative identity disorder rooted in childhood trauma, and operates as the hooded, weapon-wielding Moon Knight.
