Hank Pym is a physicist and former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who discovered the subatomic Pym Particles that allow a wearer to shrink or grow in size, originally using the technology himself as the first Ant-Man. After retiring the mantle following a personal tragedy involving his wife, Janet, he recruited Scott Lang to take up the suit and continued developing the technology alongside his daughter, Hope.
